Well, this is something a friend and I do - we write silly stories together. It's not the greatest writing in the world, but it keeps my creativity going and it's fun! This is not serious writing so there will be all kinds of mistakes and misspellings and all that fun stuff. But they're interesting! LOL! There will probably be several parts to this story, so if interested keep on reading, but I wouldn't expect an end. We don't usually bring these to an ending. We just end. LOL! Anyway, here is our newest creation!
A Vampire’s Kiss
Elizabeth Bennet stood at the window looking down at the city below her. The sky was like a dark blanket as the lights in the city sparkled and shined brightly.
Tonight was her company's charity Halloween ball. She looked at the costume she had laid out on the bed. It was a princess . . . It was something she might have felt she was long ago before her father had died and her mother and siblings had a chance to do what they wanted to her emotionally. Now she felt more like a ghost . . . but this was all about the illusion. People expected to see a princess - of industry. Her company was multi-national. IT made a fortune. She had controlling stock and she was the President.
However, her Vice President and one of the few people she actually trusted had been urging her to take a break . . . She kept putting it off, but she was trying to force her hand by Christmas . . . In fact, she suspected that his Christmas present for her was going to be an airline ticket, hotel accommodations . . . anywhere far away from the office.
That made her smile for a moment, knowing that he cared. But reality came back . . . time for work, she thought to herself as she went to the bathroom, took a shower and got ready for the Halloween ball . . .
When she arrived the party had already started people danced.
But she turned heads in the pink and purple sparkling dress with a rhinestone tiara in shades that matched.
At lot of the guests smiled, clapped and sighed as she walked by and as quickly as she could, headed to the bar and got herself a drink. She hated functions like this. It wasn't that she didn't like the people, but she wasn't so into the large crowds . . . not that anyone would notice her discomfort. Like all things about her, she was very controlled with expressing her emotions.
Then she spotted him, dark brown hair, dark brown eyes.. a vampire... he saw her and came. "Welcome.. let me ask you for a dance princess... My name is Ishlan Pavlov..."
"Well hello, Ishlan," she grinned. "I would be honored to accept a dance."
He smiled, she could see his fangs, he looked actually like Brad Pitt in interview with the vampire.. he started to dance, graciously... she didn't know that he was a real vampire..
"I don't recall seeing you before," she said softly, entranced by him. "Are you new to the charity circuit?"
"Not really, I own this place." He says.
"Ah . . . so you were gracious enough to let us rent out the ballroom and every rooms . . . well, thank you," she replied.
A strange feeling hit her. How long had it been since she had felt happy? Because in this moment, she was happy . . . It seemed like it had been forever . . .
"All to meet a pretty lady like you.." He smiled.
She laughed softly. "Thank you for the compliment . . ." she replied, though she felt she was hardly pretty enough to deserve such attention.
"Let us eat.. there is a terrific meal served.." He brought her to the diner room.
She was more than happy to stay by his side, but as they took their turn sitting down, she had to excuse herself to go up to the podium to make the expected speech.
Before she began she gave another look to Ishlan and smiled.
"Welcome everyone, to Bennet Industries charity dinner to benefit abused children all over our country. We take children seriously, not just as those in our country who don't have a voice of our own and can't protect themselves, but also the fact that these children are going to grow up to be our next generation and they deserve a better life than one where abuse reigns over them. They deserve a life without fear and those that would harm children should be punished severely. Your donations tonight will help protect our children’s' future and help us push for harsher laws against those that abuse children. So think of your own families . . . your sons, daughters, grandchildren . . . nieces and nephews . . . Help ensure that all children will grow up safe and loved . . . Thank you. Now everyone, have a great evening and have fun," she ended.
There was a round of applause and several people stood.
She just merely smiled and blushed as she made her way back to the table.
He stood as well and applauded. "Bravo for that speech.." She was gorgeous.. he could not wait for her to fall asleep.. then he would drink.. make her his..
The rest of the evening was spent dancing, chatting to get donations for the fund . . . and for the first time in ages, she didn't feel as if she were forcing herself to be there. She had always believed in the cause, but some times it had been so difficult to put on the presence and the smiles for the crowd . . . But not tonight.
At the end of the evening they had taken in a couple of million for the cause.
As people began to leave she began to start feeling her energy wane just a bit.
"You should sleep in the suite we arranged for you upstairs.." He said.
"It is where my things are, right?" she smiled softly. "Ishlan . . . I just wanted to thank you . . . You made this evening much more enjoyable than it would have been otherwise . . ."
"Your thanks are very much appreciated, I can show you where it is, you shall like the view of the city.'
She took the arm he offered her as a light blush colored her cheeks. When had been the last time she had even been interested in a man? She couldn't remember . . . everything she'd gone through had not made her keen to get into too many relationships and with her status, she had to be particularly careful that men were interested in her and not her wealth or status . . . For awhile it just hadn't been worth the extra effort.
He showed her to the place, it was really luxurious.
"Oh my god . . . and I can see you've already had my things moved . . ." she smiled. "You do have self-confidence . . ."
"I am known to have..' He smiled and kissed her.
Her heart began to pound in her chest. This man made her feel things she hadn't felt . . . maybe ever . . . As the kiss ended, her green eyes gazed at him. There was a mixture of emotion playing through them . . .
"I should not have done that.. but I want..'
She smiled softly. "What do you want?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. She wanted him to kiss her . . . to touch her . . .
And he did, they made love that night.. but when she fell asleep, he bit her softly..
She moaned gently and her eyes fluttered open. "Ishlan . . .?" she asked confused.
He stroked her hairs, kept drinking... He felt her heartbeat slow... slow..
"Ishlan . . ." she said softly . . . her voice trailing away . . . her eyes closing.
He stopped, Then he took a knife and slit his wrist. "Drink.."
It was almost instinct as she did what he said feeling as if she were in a thick fog . . . that was enveloping her . . . like a dream . . .
He smiled, she was like him now, his, forever.. he closed the curtains, and fell asleep.
She felt as if she'd slept for far too long as the chime of her cell phone went off. As she moved, it felt like she was drugged . . . very groggy . . . as she reached for it.
"Hello?" she said, still not quite awake.
"Elizabeth, where are you?" came a concerned voice.
"What time is it?" she asked.
"About 6pm," he replied. "But I haven't heard from you since the Halloween ball . . ."
"So?" she asked. "Charles . . . what is the problem? Because I over slept one night?"
"Lizzie, you've been out of reach for the last three days . . ." he said.
"What??" she said with surprise.
He had the windows of his apartment treated so the sun would not burn him, he knew going out during the day was a no.. but she didn't yet.
Getting up, she found herself alone and feeling unnerved.
"I'll call you back," she replied, hanging up the phone. Going to the window, she saw the sun setting. But it was strange. Though the room was darkened, she could see well . . . like a cat, she thought. What had happened? Had she been drugged? She was in nothing, but a man's white dress shirt . . . going into the bathroom, she turned on the light and she felt like it was blinding. She turned it off for a moment and then back on. Slowly, she adjusted to it.
Washing her face with some cold water, she looked at herself in the mirror . . . She was pale . . . and as she looked on her neck, she saw the puncture wounds.
"What the hell is this?" she said softly to herself, touching the scabs. Lizzie vaguely remembered Ishlan biting her neck . . . and her drinking from his wrist . . . but it had just been a strange dream, she thought. Brought on by his costume and her love of certain vampire movies . . . It had to be a dream . . .
Going into the bedroom once again, she turned on the side table lamp . . . and felt a presence.
"How are you feeling?" He asked. she could see his fangs. He was dressed in jeans and a T shirt. His eyes were yellow and not brown. That evening he had used color contacts.
"Confused," she said softly; goose bumps covering her. "I've slept for three days? I mean, you're good, but . . . No man has made me sleep for three days straight . . ."
"I am not... a human man in that sense.. I am a vampire."
"But . . . vampires aren't real . . ." she said, feeling like her sanity was failing her. After all, her body responded to him differently than she had ever responded to any man. Even knowing that he might have drugged her, she couldn't bring herself to just leave . . . As if there were a connection between them. And his fangs and eyes spoke to what he was and yet . . . it couldn't be real, her mind kept telling her.
"We are..' He said. "Real."
"I . . . I need to go," she said softly as she looked around the room for her clothes.
"People are looking for me . . . My Vice President Charles Dunham has been worried sick about me . . ."
"You cannot go out in the sun! It will kill you!".
"What?" she said. "Even if I were to believe you, the sun is setting . . ." She replied. "I would be safe enough . . . but . . . I can't believe this. None of this is real . . . It can't be . . ." She grabbed some clothes.
He sighed. "It is and I am sorry.." He showed his fangs. "These are not fake!"
She swallowed hard and sat down on the bed. For the first time, she allowed her senses to take over. Closing her eyes, she could even hear noise from the city that otherwise she wouldn't have been able to hear . . . and she could smell . . . what seemed like everything; food, flowers, the scent of fertilizer and the smell of the animals from the grounds . . . a distinctive smell for each it seemed and her mind knew how to separate each other. As her eyes opened, she looked at him . . .
"If this is real . . . why me?" she asked curiously; her mind slowly accepting the possibility.
"Because you would die otherwise.." He knew she was sero positive..
"I don't understand," she replied. "I would have died?"
"You have aids." He saw her pale, it was her largest secret, she had gotten it from a rape..
"Oh my god . . ." she swallowed hard and put her head in her hands. It was what she'd always been afraid of . . . Had tested herself religiously . . . Her last test had been clean . . . but she was due for another. It had been scheduled for the next month.
"I smelled it.. it has a certain odor.."
"I was . . . I mean, I wasn't the type to just sleep with anyone . . . regardless of what you might think . . . You were an exception . . . and . . ." she sighed as tears misted her eyes. "Aids . . ." Her heart dropped. Either way, she'd been dead. She just hadn't known it.
"I found it a waste such a beautiful creature would die.. I wanted you to live."
Her eyes turned back to him. "You really think I'm beautiful?" she asked, still trying to take her new reality in.
"Yes, someone I would like to share my life with.." He kissed her anew.
She melted into his kiss as if she had always been meant to be with him . . . It was strange and she could still feel her heart pounding. But wasn't her heart supposed to be still while she was a vampire she thought curiously as the kissed ended, but she didn't move away from him.
"Your heart still beats.." He said. "Even though you are undead now."
(Until the next installment . . .)
